2023 Lone Star Showcase
Alexander Ochranek is a 2027 C/RHP/3B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Southlake, TX who attends Homeschool. Primary catcher with a young athletic build. Ran a 7.86 second sixty. Showed feel for the actions behind the dish with proper footwork and some twitch out of the crouch as he gains ground with developing arm strength to build on moving forward. Receives the ball deeper on the infield with the glove working close to the body. Shows young footwork working to and through the baseball as he gets the ball out on time with a shorter arm time arm action. Uses a slow paced delivery on the mound with the leg lift above the belt, throwing from a high three-quarters arm slot while sitting in the low to mid 70’s with the fastball. Showed better feel for the breaking ball in the upper 60’s with consistent arm speed and two plane shape. Right-handed hitter starts with a wider base. Showed some impact skill when the barrel is on time out front allowing him to drive the baseball to the pull side at his best, with more strength to tap into down the line. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
