Bentley Renick is a 2030 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-8 153 lb. frame from Fort Smith, AR who attends Greenwood. Recorded a 7.35 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with a lean build. Primary shortstop with a clean funnel and a proper low throwing angle. Presents the glove early with some softness to the glove with a quicker transfer up-the-middle. Showed good feel for the position and recorded throws up to 75 across. Also threw in the bullpen. The right-handed pitcher works from a hybrid windup from the middle-of-the-rubber into a small side-step and a belt-high leg lift with drop-and-drive back leg mechanics into a long, in-line stride down the mound. The hands separate into a long takeaway with the arm accelerating through from a three- quarter angle. Showed a quick arm. The fastball was up to 77 with some arm-side run and solid jump out of the hand. Paired it with a curveball with 12-6 shape and big shape and vertical depth and a change-up with solid depth and fade especially low arm-side. Right-handed hitter starts from a spread stance with in-line feet and a high handset with a high back elbow, utilizes a toe tap trigger. Creates separation and works direct to contact with good bat speed and a flatter bat plane. Some carry and strength to the pull-side with home runs to the pull-side and middle-of-the-field. Hands work well in the swing with feel to lift and launch. Exciting player with good upside and more power to be unlocked in the frame.
