CJ Campbell is a 2025 MIF/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Lafayette. Works from a medium athletic frame with some room to add more strength. Primary shortstop, gets a good first step on the baseball and takes quick routes to it. Has some foot speed and lateral range. Works into a shorter arm path and three-quarters release. Can adjust slots while delivering accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 84 mph. Switch-hitter: from the right-side, starts in a narrow base with a high back elbow and high hand set-up. Has quickness in the hips and hands. Works into a quick leveraged stroke and creates good strength at impact. From the left-side, starts in a narrow open stance with a high back elbow. Utilizes a toe lift trigger for timing and works into a compact bat path. Creates some whip to the barrel while generating power to the pull-side. Gets drifty at times. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 7.04 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.
