Chase Hunter is a 2027 C/RHP/3B with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Warrior, AL who attends Hayden. Short and compact build with good present strength, especially in his lower half. 7.34 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, gains ground well into his throws, stays in line and in his lower half well, good hands receiving the ball, makes accurate throws with some arm strength/carry, solid overall catching tools and skills. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow straight stance, gets to his front side hard, uphill swing plane, power approach that put the ball in the air consistently, gets into his strong lower half well, has power potential with more consistency. Took a turn on the mound, has a long and loose arm action with a belt high leg raise, stays on line well, tunnels his pitches effectively at release. Fastball was in the upper 70's and topped out at 80 mph with some running life. Change up was a solid pitch with similar life, also threw an 11/5 curveball and was in the zone with all his pitches. Good student.
