Michael Morris is a 2028 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Ada, OK who attends Sulphur. Big and physical build with some present strength. Primary SS working to the backhand well and fields it cleanly. Uses a 2 hand gather and funnel above the belt working up the middle. Some feel to work around on display. Made the plays and fielded everything cleaner. Will need to speed up the overall transfer and release process and getting the ball out quicker with game like pace. Also pitch, throwing from a high 3/4 slot from the windup. Fastball worked up to 78 and located well with command and control of it. Went to a curve with heavy top to bottom 12-6 shape. Could drop the curve in for strikes. Will need to be more consistent with his direction to the plate at times. Right-handed hitter with a balanced base. Uses a small leg lift and rock back into stride into contact for timing and rhythm. Showed good bat speed with strength off the barrel and could impact it when on time. Swing path tends to get long and loopy at times but can absolutely impact it when on time and on plane. Will need to get on plane more consistently moving forward but power projects well. Good Student.
