Samuel Smith is a 2029 RHP/3B/1B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Bonham, TX who attends Lovejoy. Big and physical build with lots of present strength. Works exclusively from the stretch with a quick belt high leg raise and some coil over the rubber, lands closed out front with lots of energy into release, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 89 mph and was mostly straight with occasional arm side life. Curveball showed good spin and sharpness when he got over his front side and out front with it. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread stance with a short toe tap timer and tight hand load, tends to get his swing started late, mid field to opposite field contact. 7.66 runner in the sixty. Secondary third baseman on defense, has step by step actions to the ball, some carry on his throws with developing accuracy. Good student.
