Jacob McBride is a 2027 RHP/MIF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Clear Lake. Primary RHP with a compact frame and good athleticism. Throws from the stretch starting on the first base side. Uses a belt high leg lift from a clean arm stroke. Fastball worked up to 81 and was located well around the zone. Works downhill and inline well. Showed good feel to spin with a slider that he could land at times. Slider showed good sweeping action to it with late bite. Should continue to improve off the bump. Also ran a 7.36 sixty. Played infield and was up to 81 from there making throws with good accuracy on a line. Right-handed hitter with a medium base and open stance. Quality handset starting at shoulder with not a ton of unnecessary movement before the pitch. Showed good quickness in the hands with bat speed as well. Rotates well at the top half of things and could clear the hips turning on balls showing impact to the pull side. Will just need to get into his lower half more moving forward as there is more power to project on here. Excellent Student.
