Easton Hernandez is a 2029 C/1B/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Pieper. Primary Catcher with a lean and athletic frame. Standard setup and is athletic out of the crouch. Chest high transfer and release. Throws on the money with a quick release and good carry behind them. Was up to 76 from behind the dish and recorded a 1.89 pop time. Also played outfield getting up to 82 from there. Quick feet moves well to the ball with one hand gather off to side. Works through it well with some whip to the arm. Low liner throws with good carry behind them and accurate for most part. Right-handed hitter with narrow upright base. Uses a toe tap rock back into contact for timing and rhythm. Low back elbow starting point. Stays short to it with a quick set of hands. Swings with good rhythm but gets inconsistent at times. Looking to launch the ball and can really impact it when on time. Also pitched throwing from a high 3/4 slot. Drop and drive mechanics and repeats motions well. Fastball worked up to 82 with good life out of the hand and located it well. Showed both change and slider. Change showed good fading action to it. Named to Sunshine Texas TP List.
