Nelson Perez is a 2025 2B/RHP/SS with a 5-8 148 lb. frame from Murfreesboro, TN who attends Rockvale. Smaller lean build with lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow and slightly open stance with a turned in front shoulder load, high hand start, short stride into contact, has a short hands driven swing, throws his hands hard, mostly mid-field contact and pulled a few hard to the left center field gap, bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength. 7.32 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, plays low to the ground and has some bounce in his step and good range, glove works well at the the ball, makes plays cleanly, should have plenty of range to play second base. Also took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up and a high 3/4's arm action, simple upper body delivery that could get more lower half drive to the plate. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, also threw a soft curveball that served as an effective change of pace. Very good student.
