Michael Olenik is a 2027 2B/RHP/C with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Oak. Slender and lean build. Right handed hitter, starts from a balanced and upright stance with a still high hand start, turns his hips hard to start his swing, rotational swing that can get early with the front side, long and uphill swing path, swings hard, mostly up the middle to opposite field contact. 7.11 runner in the sixty. Primary second baseman on defense who also plays catcher. From the infield showed quick, fundamentally sound footwork while ranging to and surrounding the ball. Gathered with two hands to chest and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Created accurate carry to the bag topping at 80 mph. From behind the plate displayed a slight side saddle set and gained some ground would working through transition. Exchanges were across chest and released from a compact arm slot. Topped at 74 mph with a best pop time of 2.00. On the mound showed a simple side step delivery. Clean arm circle at separation and used lower half well while driving to plate. Released from a mid three-quarters arm slot topping at 77 mph. Locates fastball well to each edge of the plate. Curveball had 1/4 shape with good spin and depth. Slider showed good sweep when maintaining arm speed through extension. Also showed good feel for a changeup offering in the upper 60's. Excellent student.
