David Simpkins is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-1 197 lb. frame from Wesley Chapel, FL who attends Freedom. Medium frame with size and strength to the build. Ran the sixty in 7.18 seconds. A primary first baseman, showed bounce to the feet with good pivots during the round to second base. Works well off the bag with accurate throws during the round. Changes the slot well when turning double plays. Clean actions with two hands out front, showed some urgency to the transfer throughout the round. Recorded throws up to 81 mph. A right handed hitter, used a narrow and upright stance with slightly open feet. The bat gets on plane early and stays through plane a long time. Showed solid pull side power with the ability to carry it that way. Solid strength to the hands with good bat speed shown in exit velocity testing and during batting practice. Recorded a 94 mph exit velocity off the tee. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
