Mayan De Nava is a 2027 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Riverside, CA who attends Riverside Poly. Recorded a 7.67 second sixty yard dash time. Medium compact frame. Present athleticism. Primary shortstop that moves quick to the ball and fields it with soft hands and a good internal clock. Got to a deep backhand and came through the other one well with range to both sides and solid glove feel and good arm speed. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a slender, athletic base with a medium leg-lift and gets into the hips with a three- quarter arm slot and a low effort, easy release. Whippy arm with a medium arm action and clean release ou of the hand. Works in-line well with good rhythm and tempo on the mound. The fastball (1841 RPM) was up to 80 and got on hitters quick with promising command of the pitch and was able to get swing and miss on top of the strike zone. 11-5 shaped curveball (2247 RPM) with some depth. Was effective low and when he was able to work downhill. Developing feel to sequence the mix. Right-handed hitter starts from an upright base with a low back elbow and a slight hand load, utilizes a medium sized leg lift and stride into contact. Level swing through the zone with a good contact approach. Keeps it simple in the box and stays short to it. Showing some hand speed and ability to work line drives all over. Exciting player with good upside. Good student.
