Colin Szonyi is a 2027 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Florham Park, NJ who attends Hanover Park. Big and physical build with good present strength. Works exclusively from the stretch from the middle of the rubber, throws from a low 3/4's arm slot, repeats his delivery well. Threw strikes with a three-pitch mix and was able to pitch backwards effectively at times. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with some running action. Threw a hard slurve-type breaking ball that had some two-plane shape and depth, also dropped in some fading change up. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a high hand load, swings hard and looks to impact the ball, has strength in his hands, hit the ball to all fields due to timing inconsistency. Secondary first baseman on defense, works through the ball is well and shows some athleticism coming off the back, quick turns on his throws, solid overall defensive actions. Good student.
