Brody Phillips is a 2027 SS/RHP/C with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Arcola, IL who attends Arcola. Medium athletic build with good physical projection. 7.11 runner in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, moves well defensively and has side to side range, still developing his glove position, has solid arm strength across the diamond, tools to develop in the middle of the infield. Also catches, has a quick arm stroke and gets rid of the ball quickly, repeats his exchange and footwork well, has potential as a catcher as well. Right handed hitter, hits from a very wide crouched stance with a short rock back load, limited lower half in his swing, arm generated swing, bat speed will improve with additional strength. Also pitched, has a long and loose arm action from a 3/4's arm slot, lands on line well and repeats his release point. Has good command of a fastball that topped out at 78 mph. Change up was a good pitch for him with some sink and good arm speed. Still developing feel for a breaking ball.
