Matthew Winser is a 2027 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Providence. Smaller young build. 7.92 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, gets low to the ground and fields under and through the ball, gets the glove out front well, full and loose arm action with some carry on his throws, charged the ball well with clean transitions on the move, has nice overall infield actions. Also worked out in the outfield with aggressive actions to the ball, same full arm action with good carry. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a very high hand set, short stride into contact, swings hard, can get long into the zone at times, best contact was to the opposite field and showed some pop the other way in the games. Also pitched, works from a full wind up with a high 3/4's arm slot, tends to be quick with his front side and get off line at times. Fastball worked in the upper 70's and topped out at 81 mph. Slider showed some spin and occasional depth, also developing his change up. High energy player who performed well in the games. Good student.
