Blake McElyea is a 2024 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Lenoir, NC who attends West Caldwell. Large frame with a long, lean build showing room to fill out physically down the road, making him projectable. Ran a 9.60 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a simple delivery as he was repeatable in his actions. Medium arm circle in the back before releasing from a higher slot. Stays direct to the dish and will add velocity in the future. Fastball up to 71 mph as he lived on the outer half with it. Breaking ball showing slurvy actions that he landed for strikes. Shows upside on the mound. Secondary Infielder, sitting back on the baseball as he makes sure to play it out front. Funnels the baseball and then shuffles into throws. Accurate around the bag as he threw it 70 mph. Right-Handed Hitter, starting even with a slightly open front side. Big leg lift to stride before showing a linear swing path. Gets the bat head out front as he looks to impact the baseball to the pull-side. Found barrels and again will make strides with a physical strength gain.
