2025 PG WWBA Workout Showcase (July 5)
Brody Lutz is a 2028 C/1B/3B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends West Forsyth High School. Strong durable build, especially for his class. Present muscularity and the type of frame you like to see behind the dish. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.50 seconds. Primary position catcher, working from a higher traditional stance, nice and square to the mound. Can make some gains from a lower body mobility standpoint which will help with foot work on throws. Solid mechanics using an appropriately compact arm action, high release and emerging overall arm strength. Throws reached 68 mph with a pop-time best 2.20 seconds. RHH working from a wider stance with a high handset and high back elbow pre-pitch. Keeps hands very still pre-pitch, then uses small stride to start path to impact. Flat path to the ball with some bat speed and showed best bolts to the opposite field. Bat speed and ability to get on plane will make a jump with time, making him an interesting prospect behind the dish. Elite student as well.
