2025 PG WWBA Workout Showcase (July 5)
Jud Layman is a 2027 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Batavia, OH who attends Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Solid athletic frame with nice current strength and plenty of room to make gains. Ran the 60-yard dash in 6.99 seconds. Primary position outfielder, gets to the ball with good angles and will learn to get rid of the ball in a more timely fashion. Presents the glove out front and works to midline transfer. Short inline arm path with a lower release generating throws up to 82 mph with a bit of run. Consistent feeds back to the infield with one hop accuracy for the most part. RHH working from a medium and upright stance, high handset with a small move to the front side with his stride. Timing was off a bit early in the BP round, but adjusted and showed looseness in the wrists and whip in the hands. Emerging power, the consistency of barrel accuracy is trending upward with a lot to look forward to from this athlete. Elite performer in the classroom.
