2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (28-29 Grads)
Trey Brooks is a 2028 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Baytown, TX who attends Goose Creek Memorial. Lean young athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Primary shortstop on defense with two-way potential on the mound. 7.39 runner in the sixty. Worked from a side step wind up on the mound with coiled hips over the rubber and deliberate pace down the mound, longer arm action in back to a high 3/4's arm slot. High spin fastball was in the mid-80's and topped out at 87 mph, mostly straight with good downhill angle. Curveball was a promising pitch with good power and 2500+ rpm spin, 11/5 shape with some sharpness and depth. Flashed a change up with some fading life. Moved well in the infield, handled the back hand cleanly, has a clean exchange and release with some pace to it, plenty of arm strength and made accurate throws, athleticism showed in all his actions. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread stance with a high hand load and a quick leg raise timer, long and lifting rotational swing mechanics, has some hand speed with developing strength at contact. Arm strength and athleticism are his tools, graded out best as a pitcher at this event. Outstanding student. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
