Malakye Matsumoto is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. projectable frame from Manhattan Beach, CA who attends Notre Dame High School. Started off the event clocking a 6.91 60-yard dash. A primary infielder, secondary pitcher. Has quick feet and covers ground with good lateral range for his size. Takes a quick first step and fielded it cleanly making all plays. Changed slot well with fluid actions. Was 82 across the diamond. On the mound he threw from a standard 3/4 slot. Showed good pitch-ability and could locate well running the fastball up to 87. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open and wide base. Shorter stride into contact for timing and rhythm. Works the middle and other way well with a power/pull approach. Rotates well at the top half of things. There is over the fence power potential. Named to the Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
