Zach Keck is a 2021 C/3B with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Desoto, MO who attends Desoto Sr.. Medium build with present physicality and room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary catcher, sets up in a conventional crouch with some quickness up and out of it. Projectable build for a backstop, replaces feet well on his throws down to second base. Developing glove work with clean transitions. Posted a 2.08 second pop time in the catching workouts. At the plate, uses a conventional upright stance with a hanging leg lift trigger. Good feel for his timing. Nice fluid rhythm, creates good leverage in his stroke. Slightly elevated barrel plane through the zone. Good pop to his pull side with a power tool that will continue to develop. Middle to pull side approach, great student in the classroom as well.
