Ryder Sheffield is a 2029 SS/RHP/UT with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Marshville, NC who attends North Stanly. Recorded a 6.80 second sixty yard dash time. Compact, smaller frame with a lean build and athleticism. Primary shortstop stays low with a harder glove and a long arm action with some zip on throws with carry across. Impressed defensively during the game action making plays and showing the athleticism. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from the stretch-only from a submarine angle. The fastball (1717 RPM) was up to 66 and was able to keep it off the barrels. Upper-50s slider (1715 RPM) with some depth. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide stance and utilizes a negative toe-tap trigger. Long path to the ball with some strength and pull-side approach with line drive contact. Exciting player with feel defensively and athleticism to project on.
