David Gibbs is a 2024 LHP/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Indio, CA who attends Xavier College Prep. Athletic build with good present strength. Has a deceptive delivery on the mound with a very compact arm action that hides the ball well, falls off hard to the third base side and tends to leave his arm behind, has some energy at release. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph with lots of run and sink when down on the zone. Showed good feel for his change up. Tends to run away from his curveball, flashes some spin and depth when his arm is on time. Immediate improvement there with work on his direction at release. Left handed hitter, swings hard and creates some bat speed with good lift out front, tends to fly open with his front side at the plate as well as on the mound, has the strength to impact the baseball. 6.98 runner in the sixty. Plays the outfield when not on the mound with the same compact arm action, along with a quick release. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
