Leighton Billings is a 2022 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Southwick, MA who attends Southwick-Tolland Regional. Recorded a 7.48 second sixty-yard dash time. Large frame with square shoulders and present strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with a fairly simple delivery; simple leg lift into balance with short stride out to foot strike and working into a higher three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the 77-82 mile per hour range, topping out at 83 mph with deception on the backside of the arm swing. Developing feel for spin with 11-5 shaped curveball that flashes the potential for downer action as he learns to throw with conviction. Solid upside remaining on the mound with more velocity in the tank. Secondary outfielder with deliberate actions into and through the fielding process, anticipatory steps into an uphill release with arm strength recorded up to 88 miles per hour in drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, spread stance with a high hand set and high back elbow. Intent based swing with elongated, upward swing path and developing feel for the barrel. Uses lower half fairly well into contact, showing the ability to impact when on time. Strong, durable build with remaining upside on the mound, will continue to improve with continued refinement of overall skill set and additional maturity. Good Student.
