Jan Avila is a 2022 SS/2B, 3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Toa Alta, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, rounds the ball well and moves nicely on feet, fields the ball out front, shows solid arm strength and carry on throws across the diamond, quick arm stroke and shows accuracy across, made a nice play ranging to the hole in live action. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even and upright stance in the box, limited load moving into swing. Longer swing path through the zone, creates some leverage at point of contact and bat speed will continue to improve with further adjustments. Very good student. Named to Sunshine East Top Prospect List.
