Derrek Lathon is a 2020 C/ with a 5-8 190 lb. frame from Zachary, LA who attends University - Baton Rouge. Showed a medium frame with a stocky build with strength throughout present. Ran a 7.06 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher showing an athletic stance with clean footwork. Quick transfers with arm showing some carry with throws around the bag at times. Righthanded hitter with a spread out stance and pinched knees as he sat into his stance. Big leg kick while moving all body weight at once. Linear swing path showing some pop when he gets extended. Finding the barrel often with a middle of the field type approach. Created some loud contact at times with some sky high type fly balls deep to the gaps. Great Student.
