Julian Lopez is a 2022 2B/OF with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from Schererville, IN who attends Lake Central. Compact frame with a slender build and room to add. Ran a 7.88 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary second baseman. Fields out in front with solid glove work. Long wind up to throws from a low three-quarter arm slot. Gets slightly uphill with release while staying accurate to the bag and topping out at 70 MPH. Also worked out defensively as a secondary outfielder. Fields with a deeper funnel to the side. Longer strides into the baseball. Loose actions through exchanges into an uphill release out of the hand. Lefthanded hitter with a wide stance and short leg lift trigger for timing. Direct line drive hand path getting onto the front side with linear actions. Works contact to all fields when staying on the back side enough. Good student as well.
