2025 PG National Showcase
Matt Ponatoski is a 2026 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Hamilton, OH who attends Archbishop Moeller. Athletic build with good present strength and some projectability remaining. 6.81 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, worked out at the position, showing good range to both sides with athletic footwork and some bounce to the feet. Clear arm strength showed on the throws across. Made a good play on the backhand as well. Threw 101 across the infield, setting a PG National record. A left-handed hitter with a wider base and hanging leg kick working into contact. He showed a longer path through contact, getting the barrel through it with a whip, looking to leverage and drive the ball hard to all fields. Mostly worked middle/pull-side during his round of BP swings, Balanced operation overall with EVs in the 90s. Produced a 98 mph exit velocity during PG DK Testing. Added a base knock in-game as well. Took to the mound as well for a brief outing. Worked 94-95 mph on the fastball with spin above 2,400 RPMs. Had some feel to miss bats above the zone. Flashed a CB up to 81 mph with absurd spin above 2,800 RPMs, with hard-biting shape and depth. Had a changeup in the mix as well up to 86 mph with spin in the 2,200s. Fast-paced arm and delivery with a quicker rocker leg lift at the belt into the delivery. Worked from a higher three-quarters arm action. Comes out well with good arm speed. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Kentucky to play both football (QB) and baseball. Selected to play in the 2025 Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
