Jacob Hennessey is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends Granite Hills. Large physical build with present athleticism, posted an 7.15 second sixty yard dash time. Primary outfielder, did not showcase his full arm strength from the outfield. Approaches the ball well and plays through it with fluidity. Glove work is solid, transfers quickly and shows accuracy to all bags. Footwork is agile enough to make plays into the gaps. On the mound, works exclusively from the stretch. Has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Arm is strong with a fastball that sits around 83-85 mph and possesses some downward angle thanks to his slot. Throws a true 11-to-5 shaped curveball with plus side to side actions across the plate. Also mixes in a 73 mph changeup that he turns over and creates decent run. Solid pitchability with an understanding of his arsenal. At the plate, uses a spread upright stance with a lower hand set. Has a tendency to hook the barrel through the zone. Flashes good bat speed with controlled violence overall. Middle to pull side approach. Has a future as a pitcher. Named to the SoCal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
