Theo Gillen is a 2024 SS/RHP with a 6-3 198 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westlake. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength throughout. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows range moving to either side, maintains balance on the charge play, accurate throws across the diamond with carry to first base. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, fluid hand load at start of swing. generates lots of barrel whip and natural loft at the point of contact. Turns the barrel with conviction and generates consistent hard contact off of the barrel, lots of lift and impact to the pull side. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Texas. Named to the 2023 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
