Vincent Rodriguez is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Richard Gahr. Features a slender build with room to add. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Showcased solid athleticism throughout defensive workouts. Charged the ball hard with the ability to maintain momentum through catchpoint. Pulls down well on short arm action throws. Generates solid carry while remaining fairly accurate. Threw 83 mph. Left-handed hitter. Utilizes a square stance with a narrow base and semi-crouched lower half. Toe tap timing mechanism creates some separation pre-pitch. Showcased above-average bat speed throughout uppercut swing. Approach allows for the entire field to be used. Flashed some power to the pullside. Continuing to develop barrel accuracy should help it play more regularly. Flashed some intriguing traits as a right-handed pitcher as well. Delivery features a belt high leg kick with a moderate stride length down the mound. The fastball sat 74-77 mph with some ride through the zone. It was paired with a solid slider in the mid-60’s. The offering features late break with tilt when down in the zone. Also showed a low-60’s curveball with downward action. Maintaining arm speed is key to the offering. Good student.
