Kevin Barnett is a 2023 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Needham, MA who attends Needham. Medium frame with slender, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.08 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher, crossfire step over stride downhill, creates good angle from extended three quarters slot, good projection physically, works quickly with good tempo, fastball worked 70-73 mph with very good arm side life along with the angle he creates, shows curveball with slurvy break, comfortable throwing it to any hitter in any count, threw a good amount of strikes. Worked out at first base, sound and consistent footwork, easy actions around the bag, clean hands out front, easy transitions with looseness to arm stroke, clocked up to 70 mph. Leg lift trigger at the plate, path gets sweepy at times, rotational with front hip leaking early, showed some contact skills. Very good student.
