John Grider is a 2021 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 150 lb. frame from Mt. Pleasant, TX who attends Rivercrest. Large frame with long, lean build; good projection long term. Primary lefthanded pitcher, good room to fill out body, simple and repeatable mechanics, three quarters arm slot with easy release, pitches exclusively from the stretch, fastball worked 73-76 mph with arm side life, wore out both edges of the plate, threw a lot of strikes, showed breaking ball with good depth. Hits from spread stance, short inside hand path through swing, gets the ball into the air, projects well with strength. Looked good at first base, fields cleanly with hands that work well out front, made all the plays with ease, clocked up to 79 mph on throws across the diamond. Good student.
