Daegan Draper is a 2020 C/RHP/2B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Axtell, TX who attends Axtell HS. Large build with present strength throughout and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.99 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a side straddle stance. Receives deep with a soft glove. Gains short ground toward the bag. Longer transfer with a compact action. Softer carry to the bag while making accurate throws topping out at 69 miles per hour and a workout pop time of 2.25. Also worked out from the infield. Moves well with athletic strides to and through the baseball. Fields high with a funnel to the body. Full arm action into throws from a high three-quarters slot topping out at 73 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an spread and upright stance. Utilizes a medium leg lift trigger for timing. Long and loose path to contact with a slightly elevated path. Can find the barrel when getting to the ball out front. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a side step delivery into a medium leg lift. Long effort delivery staying tall throughout. Fills up the zone with short sink on the fastball. Short drop on the curveball at 54 miles per hour. Good student as well.
