Paul Barnett is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Mountain Brook, AL who attends Mountain Brook. Bigger athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Primary shortstop with big two-way potential on the mound. Athletic mover down the slope with a clean arm path to a high release. Fastball worked in the low-90s, grabbing 94 mph (2407 RPM) with 20"+ IVB consistently. Curveball has downer shape with depth at 80 mph and rounds mix with a firm changeup with great shape at 86 mph. Also a quality mover at shortstop with huge arm strength, recorded throws across up to 98 mph. Projects to stick on the left side defensively if not on the mound. Right-handed hitter, small stride out into contact with intent at impact. Swings it hard, keeps the hands inside the baseball and it comes off easy to all fields. Consistently upper-90s EV's throughout the round. Ran a 6.80 60-yard dash. Good student with a commitment to Alabama.
