Charles Brewer is a 2006 right handed pitcher/first baseman from Paradise Valley, AZ with a medium build at 6-4, 180 lbs. He has good strength in his hips and lower half. He has a tall delivery with good balance through a high leg kick. Brewer's fastball topped out at 90 mph with some armside life. His curveball was very tight at 74 mph to lots of downer action. Brewer's change up at 80 mph was a good pitch and he showed plenty of confidence in it. Brewer showed the ability to fill up the zone with strikes, mix his pitches and get ahead in counts. He has very good pitchability for his age. Brewer also did a nice job fielding his position when he got the chance. He's a high ceiling prospect who isn't through developing. Brewer has signed with UCLA and is a very good student.
