Casey Borba is a 2023 3B/1B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Santa Ana, CA who attends Orange Lutheran. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame nicely. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, arm plays across the diamond, clean actions with a quick release and carry on throws to first base. Two hands out front at first base, longer arm action through the back, ball comes out of hand well and moves well on feet away from the bag, sound footwork, arm plays. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a big leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Loads weight onto back side, does a nice job of getting the barrel out front with present bat speed, able to elevate and impact when squared. Turns over the barrel well on contact to pull side, will continue to make adjustments and refine, physical strength plays in swing. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Texas.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
