Bowen Tabola is a 2023 C/3B, MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Castle Rock, CO who attends Cherokee Trail. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to build, additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, low set behind the plate and shows flexibility to actions, gains big ground coming out of crouch, long arm action through the backside and shows quickness, can shorten release moving forward, repeats actions with high energy and carry to throws. Similar long and loose arm action in the infield, showed athleticism going up the middle, double tap release, shows carry across the diamond, will continue to refine overall actions. Switch-hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing and shows quickness to hands, stays short to the ball and works on a linear swing path, swings with intent and shows bat speed through zone. Open stance from right side, high hand set and lower back elbow, gets to front side early with weight shift, stays short to the ball, shows carry to opposite field gap when squared. Excellent student.
