Emmanuel Colon is a 2020 3B/C, IF, OF, UT with a 5-8 168 lb. frame from Springfield, MA who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with a wide base, picks the backhand well and works to an over-the-top slot, short arm actin through the back, takes shorter strides ranging up the middle, shows carry on throws across to first base and maintains body control well. Higher gather in actions behind the plate, extra steps coming out of crouch, receives the ball out front, shorter arm action with developing footwork and mechanics, shows accuracy on throws when on top. Also pitched, slight turn at top of delivery with a short arm stroke through the back working to a higher slot; fastball topped out at 74 mph with short life, strides on line with lower half and mixed in a curveball at 64 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with an even stance. Quick hand load at start of swing, stays short to it with swing, gets rotational at times with upper half. Shows quickness to hands and overall with occasional lift, shows comfort working to pull side, gets uphill at times, projects with additional extension to swing. Very good student.
