Colin Purcell is a 2020 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-3 150 lb. frame from Tomball, TX who attends Tomball Memorial. Large frame with a slender and projectable frame. Ran a 7.50 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Deliberate footwork when working through the baseball. Fields the ball out front with clean glove actions. Longer action in the back with accurate carry to the bag topping out at 81 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a short and compact path to the ball. Consistent line drive contact off the barrel. Works the middle of the field with a contact oriented approach. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a repeatable delivery. Easy and loose arm action in the back into an extended three-quarters release. Sinking run on the fastball at 82 miles per hour. Mixes in both a sweeping curveball as well as a slider with tight spin to both pitches. Good student as well.
