2018 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Parker Wright is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 6-3 192 lb. frame from Columbia, MO who attends Rock Bridge HS. Strong athletic build. Primary right handed pitcher. Starts with a simple smooth paced delivery with a high leg lift. Has a clean arm circle and releases from a three-quarters arm slot. Arm showed some quickness through extension with the ability to repeat delivery consistently. Lands in line with the plate while utilizing some drop and drive actions down the mound. The fastball comes out of the hand cleanly and generates good run to the arm side. Also showed some downhill plane through the zone, topping out at 88 miles per hour. Has good feel for the fastball and consistently attacked the zone around the knees. Secondary pitch was a slider that has a 9/4 shape with tight spin and good sweeping action. Showed a willingness to work backwards and keep hitters off balance. Also worked out from the infield. Moves well to each side with some range. A good arm with accurate carry across the infield with a workout best infield velo of 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter. Starts with a narrow and open stance. Generates some good strength especially when staying to the middle of the field to the pull side. Handles the barrel well. 7.07 runner. Good student. Named to the Top Prospect list.
