2020 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Hunter Gotschall is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Peyton, CO who attends Calhan. Large frame with well-proportioned physicality and strength in the lower half. Ran a 7.31 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, has a very loose and balanced delivery as he controls the limbs well and works on line with athleticism to the way he gets down the mound. Long and loose arm action with a clean release that he repeats well. Pounded the zone throughout his outing, holding velocity especially well. Fastball shows great life to it with ride up in the zone and the ability to miss bats with it. Curveball shows some power to it already out of 12-to-6 shape with great swing-and-miss components; changeup was used sparingly but thrown firm with late arm side fade and also showed a slider with tight horizontal bite to it. Worked out in the outfield as well, comes and gets the ball well with a slower gather but great arm strength. Right-handed hitter, has a longer swing but uses strength to get the ball in the air and generate great impact and carry off the barrel. Great student. Named to 2020 Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.
