2018 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Jabari Smith is a 2021 SS/ with a 5-9 153 lb. frame from Toronto, ON who attends Birchmount Collegiate Institute. Compact and young frame with plenty of room to fill out and time to do so. Ran a 7.41 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, sits back on the baseball with mostly deliberate actions to it, showcased nice hands out in front, shuffles into his release, throws the baseball from a long and extended release point, average arm strength across the diamond topping out at 81 mph. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a narrow base, separates cleanly into a mostly level swing plane, looks to lift with young strength at the point of contact, some adjustments to timing combined with added strength will improve pop off of the barrel. Good student.
