Luke Boykin is a 2022 OF/SS with a 6-1 188 lb. frame from Jesup, GA who attends Wayne County. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Quick-twitch, ran a 6.60 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball, fields it out front with two hands, short shuffle into release with a longer arm action, works through the ball well, shows present arm strength on throws with fluidity throughout actions. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a double toe tap for timing in the box. Turns the barrel over well, keeps hands inside the ball and works on a linear path through the zone. Contact oriented approach, creates extension out front and shows some carry to the pull side when squared, line drive contact coming off. Excellent student.
