Josh Beattie is a 2020 C/ with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Golden, CO who attends Lakewood. Large frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.30 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a low, athletic stance while setting up to receive the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouched with a low, quick exchange. Repeated a compact three-quarters arm slot that that produced solid online carry to the bag, best workout pop time of 2.01. Left handed hitter with a spread, open stance and high back elbow set. Lower half with to contact with linear action and a large leg lift trigger. Hands work from a slightly lower position after load on an uphill plane through extension. Generated good extension through the baseball when on time and produced solid jump off the barrel to the gaps. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Outstanding student as well.
