Joe Waddell is a 2021 LHP/1B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Watkinsville, GA who attends North Oconee. Medium frame with broad shoulders and some strength present. Ran an 8.06 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, starts his delivery with a short side step up to a high leg lift, takes his arm back to a full arm action up to a ¾ arm slot, strides online to the plate and creates a downhill plane to the plate, efficient movements on the mound with potential for more velocity moving forward. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with occasional sinking action to it, curveball has 1-7 shape that showed best bite when thrown with conviction. Secondary first baseman, moves well around the bag with quickness to his actions. Righthanded hitter, spread out stance with a linear swing path, middle of the field approach. Good student. Named to 2019 Fall Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
