Ivan Tavarez is a 2019 OF/LHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, NC who attends Colegio Luis Munoz Rivera. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.54 seconds. Hits from balanced stance, fluid swing with solid bat speed, line drive swing plane, shifts well into swing, shows good contact skills. Worked out in the outfield, moves well in on the ball with twitchy and balanced footwork, works through the ball well, clocked up to 82 mph on throws. Also pitched, creates angle from compact three quarters slot, will drop slot at times, short stride with closed land, fastball worked 71-75 mph. Showed curveball with 1/7 shape, feel to spin the ball, gradual break. Very good student.
