Jaxon Cady is a 2018 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends St. Andrew's Episcopal HS. Large, athletic present frame with good build; body projects quite well. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.96 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher; compact arm stroke through the back that stays online, quickness to arm, creates moderate plane to the plate from high three quarters slot. Medium-effort delivery, will separate hands late at times and cause timing concerns. Fastball worked 76-80 mph with good arm side life; flashes sink when located down. Demonstrated solid feel for a straight changeup, thrown with good arm speed. Sets up to hit from even-based stance with hands set close to body, hands stay close throughout on compact path, line drive swing plane, shows looseness to hands, worked to all fields on a line at times. Worked out in the outfield; moves well in on ball and has good balance, works through fielding mechanics, several steps into release, flashes very quality arm strength with throws clocked up to 82 mph. Excellent student.
