Trevor Smith is a 2017 MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Coronado, CA who attends Coronado HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects additional size with strength. Ran a 7.32 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth, fundamentally sound footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Flashed quick hands while working around the baseball with clean funneling actions. Clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transfer. Creates accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 80 mph. Right handed hitter with a balanced, open stance. Creates good separation at load launches with intent to lift the baseball into the air. Shows a mid-field approach but flashed the ability to turn the barrel and work to pull side as well. Consistently barreled baseball throughout batting practice producing occasional rising line drives. Outstanding student as well.
