Mason Albright is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Thurmont, MD who attends Catoctin. Strong athletic build. Long arm action in back that shows the ball to the hitter, high leg lift, extended 3/4's arm slot creates some angle to the plate, occasional pause at the top to vary his tempo and hitters timing, stays on line well with his lower half. Fastball topped out at 94 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life. Big breaking frisbee slider from the same slot as his fastball, has feel for the pitch and throws it for strikes. Developing change up. Knows how to sequence his pitches with maturity and created some uncomfortable at-bats, has the tools already to dominate left handed hitters. Raw stuff has taken a nice jump over the past year. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
